Chief Nursing Officer – Rural 60-Bed Community Hospital
Are you a dynamic nurse leader with a passion for building high-performing teams and improving patient care in a community-focused setting? Our hospital is seeking a Chief Nursing Officer (CNO) to lead nursing operations and drive clinical excellence in a 60-bed rural facility serving a safe, welcoming community.
What You’ll Do
As CNO, you’ll :
- Provide strong leadership across Med / Surg, Telemetry, and ICU—driving unit performance, patient satisfaction, and outcomes.
- Lead a team of 250 FTEs , fostering accountability, engagement, and skill development through best practices and shared governance.
- Spearhead initiatives to grow Med / Surg volumes from 18 to 24 patients / day while maintaining the highest standards of care.
- Partner with a dynamic executive leadership team to strengthen interdisciplinary collaboration and patient-centered care.
- Oversee EMR and IT conversions (including payroll to Workday), ensuring seamless transitions across systems.
- Inspire nurses, physicians, and staff to bring their best selves to work every day, creating meaningful connections with patients, families, and colleagues.
What We’re Looking For
The ideal candidate has :
Proven success turning around units and leading them to high performance.Demonstrated strength in change management, IT / EMR conversions , and system integration.Experience in shared governance and building a culture of safety and collaboration.Outstanding communication skills to engage with medical staff, corporate partners, and system leaders across other rural hospitals.Requirements
BSN + Master’s degree requiredActive RN license (multi-state compact preferred)4–6+ years of progressive clinical & operational nursing leadershipCurrent ACLS, TNCC, PALS, BCLSWhy Join Us?
