Overview
We are seeking adedicated and detail-oriented Packaging Technicianto join our growing brewery team. This role is primarily responsible for the execution of our canning operations and assisting the Lead Packaging Manager with daily tasks, ensuring the highest quality standards for our finished beer. The ideal candidate is a self-starter, mechanically inclined, highly reliable, and thrives in a fast-paced production environment.
Key Responsibilities
Set up, operate, monitor, and clean theautomated canning line(depalletizer, filler, seamer, labeler, etc.) with a strong focus on efficiency and safety.
Perform regular quality checks during packaging, includingDO (Dissolved Oxygen), seam integrity, fill levels, and coding accuracy.Troubleshoot minor mechanical issues and perform basic preventative maintenance on packaging equipment.Preparation and Material Handling :Prepare and stage all necessary materials for packaging runs, including cans, lids, cardboard trays, labels, and boxes.
Load and unload the depalletizer, ensuring a consistent flow of cans.Efficiently package finished cans into trays / cases and prepare them for palletizing.Cellar and Warehouse Support :Assist the Lead Packaging Manager with the movement of beer tanks, cleaning of equipment (CIP), and general organization of the cellar and warehouse spaces.
Operate aforklift(certification preferred or willingness to obtain) to move finished goods and raw materials.Quality and Safety :Maintain an exceptionallyclean and sanitary work environmenton the packaging line and surrounding areas.
Adhere strictly to all brewery safety protocols, including wearing appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).Accurately record and report packaging data, yields, and any quality control issues.Required Qualifications & Skills
Prior experiencein a production, manufacturing, or food / beverage packaging environment is strongly preferred. Experience in a brewery or beverage facility is a significant asset.Ability to follow detailed instructions and standard operating procedures (SOPs) accurately and consistently.Basicmechanical aptitudefor operating and troubleshooting machinery.Must be able to frequently lift up to55 lbs, stand for long periods, and comfortably bend, stoop, and climb.Excellentattention to detailand a commitment to producing a high-quality product.Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a small team.Flexible scheduleand ability to work early mornings, evenings, or occasional weekends as production demands require.Compensation and Benefits
