Job description

THE POSITION

DESCRIPTION OF WORK

In this position you will directly supervise case workers oversee protective services coordinate client services and participate in casework as needed. Casework is comprised of two distinct roles : Investigating allegations of abuse and neglect and ongoing support for children and families. This involves face to face contact with children and families as we support and strengthen families in a culturally sensitive manner without compromising safety. You will keep your teams work aligned with established regulations policies and procedures while exercising your initiative and independent judgment in achieving objectives.

Every day that you work with our team will present different challenges. This includes investigating allegations of abuse or neglect working with school partners to remedy truancy collaborating with mental health providers to serve the needs of children and families or testifying in court in support of efforts to protect children from suspected abuse or neglect. Work Schedule and Additional Information :

  • Fulltime employment
  • Work hours are 8 : 30 AM to 4 : 30 PM Monday Friday with a 30minute lunch.
  • Telework : You will not have the option to telework in this position.
  • Salary : In some cases the starting salary may be nonnegotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements :

  • Two years of professional experience in public or private social work and a bachelors degree with major course work in sociology social welfare psychology gerontology criminal justice or other related social sciences; or
  • Any equivalent combination of experience and education which includes 12 college credits in sociology social welfare psychology gerontology criminal justice or other related social sciences.

  • You must be able to perform essential job functions.

    • Legal Requirements :

  • You must pass a background investigation.
  • This position falls under the provisions of the Child Protective Services Law.

    • Under the Law a conditional offer of employment will require submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports including but not limited to PA State Police clearance PA Child Abuse history clearance and FBI Fingerprint clearance.
