• AdventHealth Apopka is a seven-story, 120-bed hospital offering an extensive range of services including expanded surgical services, advanced surgical suites and a catheterization lab
• The hospital also features a 30,000-square-foot emergency department with pediatric-friendly beds, imaging services, a full-service cafeteria, chapel, gift shop and on-site fire station
• The hospital opened in December 2017, replacing the 50-bed hospital that AdventHealth had operated in downtown Apopka for more than four decades

The role you'll contribute :

The Diagnostic Medical and Vascular Sonographer , under general supervision, performs a wide range of Sonography and Vascular Sonography procedures in accordance with department protocols, contributing to the delivery of high-quality diagnostic information for the treatment and prognosis of vascular disorders and other medical conditions. This role operates at a technical level, conducting ultrasound procedures across a broad spectrum of patient ages, from neonatal through geriatric, ensuring high-quality exams for interpretation by medical professionals such as Cardiologists and clinic physicians.

In addition to routine diagnostic tasks, the Vascular Ultrasound Technologist assists physicians with interventional procedures, employing ultrasound as a guidance tool where necessary. The role demands a comprehensive understanding of both departmental and hospital policies and procedures relevant to the field of Sonography and Vascular Surgery. The Vascular Ultrasound Technologist is expected to exercise independent judgment, ingenuity, and initiative in performing diagnostic scans, selecting practical applications and technical factors, and assuming responsibility for designated areas or procedures
