THE OPPORTUNITY

Michelin has an immediate opening for a Site Fire Specialist to oversee, manage, and enhance fire safety systems and emergency response protocols in a high-paced, operational facility. This position aligns directly with Michelin's core values by fostering a culture of safety, preparedness, and protection for employees and assets. The primary purpose of this role is to strengthen fire prevention strategies, ensure compliance with safety regulations, and lead initiatives that reduce risk and safeguard the site.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

• Maintain and improve fire protection systems and emergency response protocols.
• Lead fire drills, safety training, and emergency preparedness activities for employees.
• Conduct fire risk assessments and implement mitigation strategies.
• Ensure compliance with fire safety regulations and maintain documentation.
• Coordinate with local fire departments, regulatory agencies, and internal teams to facilitate inspections, audits, and incident investigations as needed.
• Participate in safety committees and cross-functional teams promote safety-first.
• Analyze data from incidents and near misses to drive continuous improvement in fire prevention strategies and emergency preparedness.
• Champion new technologies and innovative solutions that enhance fire prevention, detection, and suppression systems at the plant.
• Inspect, test, and maintain fire service equipment .
• Respond to emergency events and support incident command operations.
• Collaborate with plant security and the onsite medical team during abnormal events, providing critical support to ensure a coordinated, timely, and effective response to emergencies and safeguarding the well-being of personnel and assets.
• Support and facilitate the authorization of safe work permits, ensuring that all high-risk activities are properly assessed and controlled before commencement.
• Role assigned to a rotating 12-hour shift schedule
