Primary Purpose :
Responsible for all State and Federal reporting, including the monthly TRS report (Employee Demographics, Regular Payroll, and Employment After Retirement), TWC Quarterly Wage Report, and Quarterly Form 941. Manages legal deductions (child support, student loans, garnishments, bankruptcies) and payroll deductions (memberships, contributions, certifications, PISD foundation). Processes 403b and 457 contributions and ensures proper transmission of deductions to PenServ, while maintaining a relationship with the Third-Party Administrator (TPA).

Education / Certification :
- Bachelor's degree in Business or Accounting (preferred)
- TASBO Certification (preferred)
Special Knowledge / Skills :
Knowledge of local, State and federal requirements relating to payroll issues and reportsKnowledge of payroll accounting and auditing principlesAbility to work with numbers in an accurate and rapid mannerExcellent, proficient computer skills - including use of Microsoft OfficeExcellent organizational, communication (verbal and written), public relations and interpersonal skillsExperience :
Five years' experience in a public sector accounting / payroll ERP systemTRS Reporting Experience (preferred)Major Responsibilities and Duties :
Develop and implement payroll procedures to ensure timely processing of 403b and 457 payroll deductions.Ensure the accuracy of payroll deductions and balancing when transmitting the data to our third-party administrator.Control payment of all liabilities generated through payroll, including taxes, Teacher Retirement System (TRS) deposits, and legal deductionsParticipate with payroll operations and other accounting and data processing units, confer with other administrative and technical staff regarding changes and new systems, and participate in developing, implementing, and testing procedures related to employee deductionsInterface with administrators, principals, directors, and staff regarding payroll deductions related issues. Assist with the equitable resolution of complaints, concerns, and problems in the area of payrollWork cooperatively with human resources and financial services to process employee legal and voluntary deductions.Compile, maintain, and file all reports, records, and other documents required including auditable recordsFollow all rules, regulations, and policies of Plano ISD and follow directives from supervisorsFollow attendance policy as assigned by supervisorPerform other functions that may be assigned by the Administration and / or supervisorEquipment Used :
