Required Education :
- Bachelors or Master's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
Required Certifications / Licenses :
Certifications required may include PMP, PE, and / or any other relevant Professional Licensure or certification. Required to have certified estimating professional credentialsRequired Qualifications :
In order to become a candidate, you must possess the following skills and abilities.
Previous experience with public airport projects or large-Scale ProjectsProficient with large-scale estimating software20 years or more of general estimating experience directly related to both engineering and construction projects. Has demonstratable specialized experience / area of expertise.Previous experience managing a small estimating department is desirableExperience as a conceptual estimator is desirableElectrical or Mechanical Estimating ability is desirableDemonstrated proficiency in estimating formats, including Uniformat IIProficient with industry estimating databases and other estimating data sources, e.g. RS Means, Richardsons, etc.Proficient with large-scale estimating softwareExperience with Design- Build and CMAR deliveryMicrosoft Office SuiteSelf-starter with proven results-oriented focusDemonstrates a proactive, firm, and respectful approach to estimate reconciliation efforts and change order processingEstablish a personable but contractual stance with the contractorHas demonstratable specialized experience / area of expertise.Responsibilities :
Develop conceptual and detailed estimates for various scopes of work.Direct and manage other estimators / estimating teams as needed; Train subordinate estimating personnel as needed.Review construction and design cost proposals and change order requests - assist with the determination ofmerit.
Review the labor rates and markups to ensure conformance to the contractspecifications.
Review quantities and labor productivity to ensure fair and reasonable representation of scopeReview the material pricing and validate against R.S. Means for other pricingreferences.
Review contract documents and contract modifications to determine scope of work and equitable cost allowance for scope changes.Establish basis of the owners acceptance or rejection of proposals and develop records of negotiationreconcile contractor, internal and third-party estimates.
Proactively establish a routine reporting cycle that clearly communicates when an estimate changes andwhy.
Accumulate, evaluate and document historical cost data for the development of future estimates.Provide coordination and liaison with project management personnel and other estimating resources throughout the estimate development.Provide accuracy, reliability and completeness in all work products.Salary :
$215,000.00 - $226,000.00 annuallyBonus Pay :
A bonus may be granted to employees depending on individual performance, employee utilization, attendance, tenure, and furtherance of other non-financial corporate goals; bonus opportunities are available at managements discretion.
