About The Position

📍 Location : Coos Bay, Oregon

🏥 Setting : Hospital-Based | Full-Time | Onsite

Are you an experienced Orthopedic Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner looking to join a dynamic surgical team along Oregon’s beautiful South Coast?

About the Role

In collaboration with attending orthopedic surgeons, you will play a key role in providing comprehensive orthopedic care — from the Emergency Department to the OR.

You’ll work closely with a dedicated care team, participate in daily rounds, assist in surgery, and manage both inpatient and outpatient orthopedic cases.

Key Responsibilities

⚕️ Conduct and document thorough patient assessments, histories, and treatment plans.

🩻 Order and interpret diagnostic studies (X-ray, MRI, CT, EMG, etc.).

🦴 Perform and assist with a variety of orthopedic procedures, including :

  • Digital blocks, regional anesthesia, tendon repair, wound care, and debridement
  • Joint and bursa aspirations, fracture reductions, and splint / cast applications
  • Assist in surgery, including closures and application of appliances

🚨 Participate in orthopedic call coverage, including weekends and holidays (rotating schedule).

💻 Utilize Epic EMR for all documentation and order entry.

Qualifications

✅ Board Certified – Required

✅ Active Oregon License – Required

✅ Must meet medical staff membership and privilege criteria

✅ Full-time availability

✅ NPDB self-query and CAQH profile required

💪 Prior orthopedic experience highly preferred

💻 Epic EMR proficiency or willingness to complete training (testing out available)
