Senior Civil Engineer / Project Manager

What You Will Do :

GFT is seeking a Senior Civil Engineer / Project Manager to support a variety of projects in the West Region. This role follows a hybrid work model, requiring regular attendance at our Berkeley office.

What you'll be challenged to do :

This position will include civil engineering design for a variety of projects, including site development, utilities, rail, storm water management and road / trail design projects. The candidate will be responsible for pursuing and executing work. The successful candidate will have a diverse project background with extensive experience and capable to lead multidiscipline projects. This position has a hybrid work environment.

In this capacity, the successful candidate will be responsible for the following :

• Organizes and develops project team to execute specific phases or aspects of project such as technical studies, project design, preparation of specifications and technical plans, and project inspection. Must be able to delegate.
• Technical Lead - Preparation of conceptual design and construction documents using Microstation / Geopak / OpenRoads and AutoCAD / Civil 3D, and preparation of investigative design reports and studies.
• Supervise the work of junior staff as well as maintain a hands-on role in the production of deliverables.
• Shows understanding of project team management, develops project scope of work, estimating manpower needs, prepare project schedules, and tracks project progress.
• Project coordination with in-house engineering, architects, environmental / planning and outside consultants.
• Reviews project design for general compliance with engineering principles, company standards, and customer contract requirements, and related specifications.
• Assures the project meets quality control and quality assurance guidelines.
• Trains / Mentors junior staff.

Compensation :

The Salary range for this position is $145,000-$190,000. Salary is dependent upon experience and geographic location.
