Technical Specialist III in GAC Savannah
Overview
Guide the successful completion of major engineering programs and conduct research that supports the development and production of company products and services. Act as a recognized authority within the field, anticipate and resolve complex issues, develop standards and guides, and exercise latitude in determining technical objectives.
Responsibilities
- Lead the development of innovative principles and decisions that have an important impact on extensive engineering activities.
- Apply advanced technical principles and concepts based on broad expertise or unique specialized knowledge.
- Conceive and plan investigation of broad areas of importance where engineering precedents are lacking.
- Develop and maintain standards and guides for diverse engineering activities.
- Work independently to determine improved methods and procedures to optimize technical product, cost, and schedule requirements.
- Make technical decisions and recommendations that are recognized as authoritative.
- Work under consultative direction and use independent judgment to accomplish objectives.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Electronics Engineering or a related technical field (Master's or Ph.D. acceptable with reduced experience).Minimum 12 years of experience in wire harness installation design / planning; 10 years experience with Mentor Graphics (Siemens) Capital Harness (CHS) and CATIA V5.Experience leading projects, developing EWIS component definitions, power distribution, power plant and communications aircraft systems, and documenting EWIS compliance to FAA Order 8100.15 and 25.981.Five years of experience utilizing and developing advanced project metrics and tracking methodologies.Full EWIS Material Review Board (MRB) authority and FAA Order 8100.15, 3-5(b) EAR candidate in development.Travel up to 25% and legal authority to work in the U.S.Education and Experience
13 years specific technical discipline or 15 years broad engineering experience with a bachelor's degree.Experience credit for related advanced degrees limited to 2 years for Masters and 4 years for Ph.D. in applicable fields.Benefits
