Travel Nursing Job Details

Location : Clinton, Maryland (20735) – Greater Washington, DC area

Position : Travel Med / Surg Telemetry Registered Nurse (RN)

Healthcare Setting : Adult Medical-Surgical / Sub-Specialty Telemetry Unit (3 West)

Assignment Type : 13-week travel nursing contract

Start Date : December 1, 2025

End Date : March 2, 2026

Shift : 3x12-hour day shifts (07 : 00 – 18 : 59)

Hours per Week : 36

Estimated Weekly Salary Range : $1590 - $1710

Patient Ratio : 1 : 6

Weekend Requirement : Every other weekend (6 per 6-week schedule)

Holiday Requirement : Every other holiday as needed

Float Requirement : May float to units of equivalent or lower acuity

Charting System : Cerner EMR

Scrub Color : Ceil blue

Flu Vaccine : Required (no exemptions)

Registered Nurse Qualifications

Minimum 2 years of recent Med / Surg Telemetry RN experience in a hospital setting

Active Maryland or Compact Registered Nurse license

Required certifications : ACLS and BLS (American Heart Association)

Proficiency with Cerner electronic charting system

Clinical skills : cardiac telemetry, cardiac monitoring, ventilator management, IV therapy, phlebotomy, 12-lead EKG, emergency response, and wound care

Experience managing chronic ventilator patients

Previous charge nurse experience preferred

Two supervisor references required

Comfortable caring for adult and geriatric patient populations

Flu vaccine required; may care for COVID-19 patients

Med / Surg Tele RN Responsibilities

Provide safe, high-quality nursing care to patients with cardiac, vascular, respiratory, neurological, and general medical / surgical conditions

Monitor and interpret cardiac rhythms; respond promptly to emergencies

Perform IV therapy, phlebotomy, and manage central / PICC lines

Oversee ventilator and respiratory support for chronic vent patients

Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams including physical therapy, respiratory therapy, pharmacy, and social services

Accurately document patient care using Cerner EMR

Float to similar or lower acuity units as needed

Participate in scheduled holiday and weekend coverage
