About The Position

Must-Have : Experience with various drips such as nitroglycerin, heparin, cardizem, and others.

Description :

This position is for a Registered Nurse in a busy stepdown unit.

The unit has a patient capacity of 32 beds.

Patient-to-nurse ratio is 1 : 4.

Nurses read telemetry strips and there are remote telemetry monitor techs available.

Team members may float to different floors for patient care as needed.

Common patient diagnoses include CVA / TIA, STEMI / NSTEMI, acute and chronic renal failure, respiratory failure / distress, and more.

A rapid response team is available 24 / 7.

Phlebotomy services are also available 24 / 7.

Experience with continuous ambulatory peritoneal dialysis is a plus but not required.

This is a cohesive team that welcomes travelers as integral members of the unit.

Weekend and holiday requirements are every other.

Charges for the unit are managed by designated charge nurses.

There is a centralized IV team and pharmacy services available 24 / 7.

Nurse aides are present in the unit with a ratio of 1 : 8-12.

The electronic medical record system used is Epic.

This unit experiences a high patient turnover.
