The Exercise Coach is a high-tech health and fitness franchise, with a proven approach over decades of experience in helping clients achieve their health and fitness goals using our customized strength training program, proprietary equipment and personalized coaching in one-on-one and small group training sessions.
Our studio located in Scripps Ranch (San Diego) is seeking a Full-time Lead Coach / Assistant Studio Manager . The Lead Coach / Assistant Studio Manager must complete The Exercise Coach certification program. Other industry certifications (NASM, NSCA, ACM, etc.) are not required.

Key Responsibilities
Studio Leadership and Culture :
Manage coaches after your certification process is complete
Foster a collaborative, team-first mentality within the studio
Lead by example with a professional, positive and supportive attitude toward clients and team members
Actively participate in our fitness program to demonstrate the value of The Exercise Coachs methods
Team Hiring, Training and Development :
Assist with recruiting, training and developing a high-performing team
Coach staff on delivering exceptional customer service and client transformation
Create a motivating environment that encourages personal and professional growth
Sales and Business Growth :
Serve as a sales leader, converting leads into members
Drive revenue growth by contributing towards monthly new client and retention goals
Be a constant learner about The Exercise Coach brand and continually seek studio improvements in line with brand guidelines
Client Experience and Retention :
Conduct initial consultations and promotional sessions with potential clients
Ensure client engagement by proactively following up on their attendance and progress as well as modifying their exercise program over time to facilitate their fitness transformation
Build close client relationships to understand their fitness and health goals, challenges as well as connect on a personal level
Operational and Administration Management :
Proactively and regularly communicate with the studio owner about all aspects of the business, taking initiative where needed
Oversee client accounts including contracts, billing, data management and scheduling
Respond promptly to client inquiries via phone, email and text
Maintain a clean, well-organized studio and ensure all team members are contributing
Qualifications and Skills
Minimum 1-2 years of experience managing staff in a retail or corporate environment
Minimum 2 years of experience in product or service sales in a direct-to-consumer setting
Oversee studio operations full-time within a flexible combination of mornings, evenings and some Saturday mornings
Studio hours Mon-Fri 6am to 8pm, Sat 7am to 1pm, closed Sunday
Passion for health and fitness no formal fitness experience required!
Candidates with personal training or group fitness experience and / or a degree in exercise science, kinesiology, physical education or
similar will receive priority consideration
We would be excited if you had prior experience with :
People skills and communication this is a personalized boutique experience, and you must be able to convey your energy and
enthusiasm while working with clients and coaches
Valid Adult First Aid / CPR / AED certification or be able to obtain within first few weeks of hire
You must be authorized to work in the United States.
