American Traveler is seeking an experienced ICU RN for a night shift position in a Level 3 trauma acute care setting, requiring a current CA RN license and ICU experience.
\n \n Responsibilities\n
Work in a 20-bed ICU within an acute care hospital environmentProvides care to patients with neuro trauma, cardiac surgical, open heart, post-cath, aortic dissection, and related diagnosesPatient ratios range from 1 : 1 to 1 : 212-hour night shifts (7p-7a) with every other weekend requiredFloating to AG ICU may be requiredCerner is the EMR used for documentationMonitors telemetry and interprets tele strips; monitor techs available as census allowsAdministers drips including norepinephrine, Precedex, epinephrine, and vasopressinUses Puritan Bennett 840 ventilatorsIntensivist support is on-site 24 / 7Self-scheduling is utilized but not always guaranteedResponsible for managing a range of critically ill patients and administering vasoactive drips and ventilator careWorks alongside a charge nurse (who does not take patient assignments), pharmacy, and respiratory therapy all available 24 / 7Required to float to other ICUs within the hospital as neededScrub color is navyFloor-specific orientation is one shiftHoliday coverage is integrated into the permanent staff rotationCannot have been employed by any CommonSpirit facility within the past 12 monthsFirst-time travelers are welcome; previous travel experience is preferred\n \n Requirements\n
Active, unencumbered CA RN license required at time of considerationCurrent BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications requiredCOVID-19 vaccination requiredMinimum 2 years of recent ICU RN experience requiredExperience reading and interpreting telemetry strips requiredExperience with Cerner EMR preferredMust provide a copy of driver’s license for considerationTwo professional references : one supervisor within the last 12 months, and one peer or supervisor from the last 3 years (including employment dates and rehire eligibility)Must pass a dysrhythmia exam and sterile technique skills testing during orientation\n Benefits\n
