Responsibilities:
- Sleep Study Preparation: Review patient charts, and testing orders, and verify patient identification.
- Sleep Study Set-Up: Apply electrodes and sensors per AASM guidelines and explain procedures to patients.
- Sleep Study Procedure: Conduct in-center and out-of-center sleep studies, ensuring quality and exceptional patient care.
- Analysis and Scoring: Analyze and score sleep studies.
- Maintenance: Clean equipment and patient rooms, perform routine maintenance, and manage lab supplies.
- Competency: Maintain scoring competency and meet monthly AASM ISR requirements.
- Additional Duties: Perform other duties as assigned, adhering to system-wide competencies and behaviors.
- HS graduate and graduate from an education program in polysomnography accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP)
- or the Commission on Accreditation for Respiratory Care (CoARC) preferred with sleep credential from the Board of Registered Polysomnographic Technologists (RPSGT), the National Board of Respiratory Care (CRT-SDS or RRT-SDS) or the American Board of Sleep Medicine (RST).
Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:
BLS required based on AHA standards that include both a didactic and skills demonstration component within 30 days of hire.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) OR Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)
- Certified Respiratory Therapy Technician (CRTT) OR Registered Polysomnographic Technologist OR Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT)
