PCU Registered Nurse Job Details

Location : Anchorage, Alaska (Zip : 99508) – Alaska nursing jobs

Unit : Cardiac Stepdown / Progressive Care Unit (PCU) / Telemetry

Assignment Length : 13-week travel nursing contract

Shift : 7 : 00 PM – 7 : 00 AM (12-hour night shifts)

Hours per Week : 36

Start Date : October 20, 2025

Rotating weekends required

Scrub Color : Caribbean Blue

Electronic Medical Record : Epic EMR

Estimated Weekly Salary Range : $1840-$1980

Registered Nurse Qualifications

Active Alaska RN license required

Minimum 1 year of recent Progressive Care Unit (PCU) or Telemetry nursing experience

Current ACLS and BLS certifications (American Heart Association preferred)

Advanced EKG interpretation and monitoring skills

Strong teamwork, communication, and adaptability

Cardiovascular nursing background preferred

PCU Nurse Responsibilities

Deliver high-quality patient care in a 34-bed Progressive Care Unit (PCU)

Monitor and manage patients using telemetry, bedside monitors, defibrillator, Alaris pumps, kangaroo pump, CT, pacer wires, and pacing box

Assist with cardiac procedures such as TEE and cardioversion

Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of Registered Nurses (RNs) and Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs)

Maintain a patient ratio of 1 : 4 for optimal care

Float to ICU and COVID units as needed for clinical support

Document all care and interventions using Epic electronic medical records
