Maintenance Worker

Overview Do you have experience working in various trades? Enjoy working on a variety of tasks? Appreciate being able to work outdoors as well as indoors? This is an excellent opportunity for a maintenance worker. Hours are primarily daytime, but some evening and weekend hours may be required. This full-time position is based in Granite City, IL. Responsibilities Perform carpentry, plumbing, and basic electrical tasks. Maintain tools and supplies. Prepare vacated rooms / apartments for incoming tenants. Clean and help maintain company vehicles. Help to complete building inspections, correcting discrepancies and reporting to supervisor. Prepare damage invoices and supporting documentation. Unload and stock food and supplies. Maintain landscaping and building grounds. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent plus one year of building maintenance experience in at least two of the following : carpentry, plumbing, electrical, or mechanical systems. Good communication and customer service skills. Able to work independently and to work flexible hours. Able to lift and push a minimum of 50 pounds. Able to climb and work from a ladder. Basic computer skills including MS Word, Excel, and Outlook. Must have valid driver's license, private auto insurance, and be insurable. The anticipated starting pay for new hires for this position is between $16.00 - $17.00 an hour.
