The weekend premium is effective from 5 : 00 PM Friday through 7 : 00 AM Monday. It is applicable only to work performed by colleagues who have been assigned to the weekend shift and who have signed the memorandum of understanding and agreement and agree to the terms of the plan. A weekend shift will be 12 hours. Colleagues will work two (2), twelve (12) hour shifts. Overtime will be paid only for hours worked in excess of forty (40) in a seven-day workweek , as defined by Goshen Health per Department of Labor FLSA regulations. The 12 hours excludes lunchtime.

The Weekend Premium Registered Nurse (RN) provides nursing care to patients consistent with the mission, vision and values of Goshen Health and the Department of Nursing’s Philosophy. Assesses patient needs, formulates a nursing diagnosis, prescribes and develops plan of care, implements and evaluates effectiveness and outcomes of care. Provides age specific and culturally relevant care utilizing evidence based nursing standards. Delegates activities to other unit colleagues. Collaborates with healthcare team members to coordinate the treatment plan and nursing care plan for safe and effective patient care. Participates in quality improvement activities, the TUL process and unit based governance activities to improve patient care and nursing practice.
