Assists in the delivery of patient care under the direction of a licensed health care provider, functioning within scope of license.

Job Summary

Job Duties

Contributes to the assessment of patients and assures the well-being of patients.

Assists provider with physical exam, procedures and treatments.

Administers medications and vaccinations and observes patients for adverse reactions to medications or treatments.

Performs venipuncture, laboratory CLIA-waived tests and therapeutic services.

Educates patients about disease treatment plan, including self-care, post discharge, health needs, available resources and follow-up care.

Additional Requirements

Licensed as Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) in Kansas or eligible for licensure

Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification and Healthcare Basic Life Support (BLS) or Advanced certification to be completed within one (1) month of hire date

Required Experience

Preferred Qualifications

Work experience in college health clinic, primary care / family practice clinic, urgent care, or ER.

Additional Information for Posting

Student Health Services provides primary healthcare to WSU students and employees. Clinic is open Monday through Friday 8am - 5pm and is closed weekends and holidays. Great environment to learn new skills and excellent work / life balance culture.
