Where Youll Be Working

Youll be joining the Day Surgery Unit at Belmont Hospital working closely with the wider Perioperative Services team including the Pre-Admission Clinic and Operating Theatres.

Belmont Hospital is a welcoming community-focused facility located on the shores of Lake Macquarie just a short drive from Newcastle. The hospital features four operating theatres and a dedicated Day Surgery Unit that provides high-quality patient-centred care for elective and same-day procedures.

About the Role

As a Registered Nurse in the Day Surgery Unit youll play a key role in delivering safe efficient and compassionate care to patients throughout their perioperative journey.

Your day-to-day duties will include :

• Admitting patients and providing pre-operative care and education
• Transferring clinical information effectively between teams
• Coordinating smooth patient flow between Day Surgery and Theatre
• Supporting patient recovery and discharging patients safely and confidently

This is a Monday to Friday role with no weekend public holiday or Christmas shifts offering great work-life balance. Shifts are staggered from 7 : 00am to 8 : 00pm with occasional overtime available. You wont be alone in this role! Youll be supported by experienced Nurse Unit Managers Nurse Educators the Clinical Care Coordinator and senior nursing staff. We also offer a structured orientation program and supernumerary shifts at commencement ensuring you feel confident and supported as you settle into your new role.
