Job Description & Requirements Specialty : ED - Emergency Department Discipline : RN Start Date : 12 / 01 / 2025 Duration : 13 weeks 48 hours per week Shift : 12 hours, nights Employment Type : Travel Schedule Hours Per Week : 48.00 Hours Per Day : 12.00 Shift Notes : 12-hour Night shifts (48 hours / week), including every other weekend Key Roles and Responsibilities (Duties) Patient Care Management : Assess, plan, delegate, coordinate, implement, and evaluate nursing care for a group of patients, potentially serving as a primary and / or accountable nurse. Education : Educate patients and families on health promotion and disease management. Medication Administration : Utilize working knowledge of pharmacology and safely administer medications according to UHS Hospitals policy. Resource Utilization : Share responsibility for productivity and effective resource utilization, including staffing, time management, supplies, and services. Compliance : Comply with all nursing practice standards, regulatory requirements, and UHS policies. Shared Governance : Actively participate in and support the Nursing Shared Governance Model by supporting the Unit Council, participating in improvement initiatives, and contributing to peer review practices. Professional Development : Engage in professional development, continuing nursing education, and complete all mandatory education requirements. Evidence-Based Practice : Integrate nursing research and current evidence into practice. Mentorship : Provide a supportive learning environment for new employees and students. Leadership : Perform duties related to the Charge Nurse or Shift Coordinator role when assigned. Qualifications Required Certifications & Licensure Current New York State Registered Nurse License. BLS Certification (AHA, HSI, or American Red Cross). ACLS Certification. Unit-specific requirements as listed in the Compliance Matrix. Required Experience 3 years current experience working in an Emergency Department (ED). Previous traveler experience. Knowledge in trauma, STEMI, stroke, sepsis, and peds care. Preferred Skills & Experience Previous clinical nursing experience in an acute care or ambulatory setting. Professional certification in a related nursing specialty. Required Skills Collaboration.
