Johnson Welded Products in Urbana, Ohio is currently seeking an experienced Environmental, Health & Safety Manager (EH&S Manager)

You also have :

EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE :

  • 5+ years of relevant experience in Occupational Safety, Health, and Environmental Management in a heavy industrial manufacturing environment
  • In-depth knowledge of environmental compliance, health and safety management, regulatory, legal systems, and sustainability
  • Ability to direct teams, management and develop individuals and leadership works closely with plant leadership to execute the programs
  • Possess leadership skills, problem solving skills and an ability to take ownership
  • EHS Certification e.g., CHMM, REM, CSP preferred
  • Degree in Environmental, Occupational Safety and Health, or related field a plus
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and effectively with a team
  • Experience working with local, state and Federal regulatory agencies

This on-site role was developed to provide site-specific leadership and resources for plant EHS initiatives to promote EHS culture, assure baseline compliance, development and on-boarding of site EHS and plant leaders. Regulatory compliance and safe work performance are core elements of facility license to operate.

  • Requirements : What You Will Do

    Primary Responsibilities :

  • Plan, direct, and execute on EHS initiatives to enhance the EHS culture, and identify, evaluate, and control risks necessary to drive improvements in EHS performance and operating efficiency.
  • Assess facility programs (roadmap), direct short-term planning actions to set targets and objectives for the site, and drive actions to completion.
  • Facilitate training development, delivery, and documentation.
  • Ensure ongoing compliance with all safety, health and environmental permits, regulations, and reporting requirements.
  • Ensure timely incident reporting and investigations completed to identify root causes with corrective and preventative action plans.
  • Regularly report on EHS risks, environmental reporting, Key Performance Indicators and trends with analytical data and recommend constructive actions towards continual improvements.
  • Maintain conformance with site ISO 14001 Management System.
  • Interface with regulatory compliance agencies to minimize impact to the business, prepare for inspections and interactions, and lead site team on all information requests.
  • Mentor and develop EHS staff and facility EHS resources.
  • Manage all high-risk matters including emergency response activities.
  • PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS :

  • Physically able to conduct inspections and carry equipment used for inspections
  • Willingness to work in a heavy manufacturing environment, often engaging with production floor personnel
  • Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds at a time
