Cumberland Hospital in New Kent, VA is recruiting a Board-Certified Pediatric Endocrinologist to join our amazing team. The position is for PRN work, and it is anticipated that this work will be conducted remotely. It would be possible for this physician to come on site in intervals if needed.

The Physician will be assigned to provide weekly review and oversight of blood glucose management of patients with diabetes mellitus (types 1 and 2), as well as initial consults on patients admitting with diagnoses such as diabetes mellitus, thyroid disease, growth hormone deficiency, and other conditions including but not limited to Turner s Syndrome, cystic fibrosis-related diabetes, and inborn errors of metabolism. Primarily, the physician in this role will be reviewing blood glucoses and diabetes mellitus treatment plans of children ages 5 years to 18 years of age (although ages accepted for admission are 2 years through 22 years), along with the primary medical team consisting of Board-Certified pediatricians and nurse practitioners. The hospital also employs two registered dietitians who meet regularly with the patients and interface with the multidisciplinary team. The ideal candidate would be interested in participating in the diabetes teaching curriculum to include patient education groups.

Cumberland Hospital is located in beautiful New Kent, VA nestled between Williamsburg and Richmond, just west of the Tidewater Region along coastal Virginia.

The Endocrinologist Physician position is a PRN role with a flexible schedule. Patient care will be in the acute care, inpatient and residential treatment programs.

COMPENSATION

Very competitive but based upon candidate s experience, credentials and scope of work. An option for an independent contractor will be considered for this role.
