About the Role :
The Elective Orthopedics Unit is a 24-bed facility offering private rooms for post-surgical care primarily focused on elective orthopedic and total joint surgeries. As a Clinical Nurse III, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality patient care while working with a diverse team on post-surgical and orthopedic trauma cases.
Key Responsibilities :
- Implement physician orders, administer medications, and document treatments in accordance with company policies and regulations.
- Order, interpret, and evaluate diagnostic tests to assess patient conditions.
- Conduct thorough assessments and evaluations of patient needs and responses to care.
- Utilize sound nursing judgment in managing patient care effectively.
- Provide both primary and emergency care for a variety of occupational and non-occupational injuries and illnesses.
- Administer medications as prescribed, including both over-the-counter and prescription drugs.
- Collaborate with the nursing team to develop comprehensive Plans of Care for every patient.
- Guide and supervise ancillary personnel while ensuring professional nursing standards are upheld.
Minimum Qualifications :
Graduate from an accredited nursing program (Diploma, Associate Degree, or Bachelor’s Degree).Current NYS Registered Nurse license.Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) required.1-3 years of previous nursing experience in Med-Surg or Progressive Care.Strong communication, prioritization, organization, and time-management skills.Knowledge of quality improvement concepts and the ability to apply problem-solving techniques in patient care.Join us at Albany Medical Center, where we are dedicated to fostering an inclusive and compassionate environment for our patients, families, and team members.
