This role provides an opportunity to lead the design and implementation of robust security architectures across cloud and on-premise environments for a high-profile government client. The Security Architect will define, evaluate, and document security controls, implement Zero Trust principles, and guide enterprise-wide cybersecurity strategies. This position involves collaboration with technical teams, stakeholders, and leadership to translate complex requirements into actionable security solutions. You will develop policies, reference architectures, and risk mitigation strategies while ensuring compliance with federal cybersecurity frameworks. The environment is dynamic, technology-driven, and fully remote, offering the ability to work with leading-edge systems and make a measurable impact on national security initiatives.
Accountabilities :
- Develop and align system security architectures with organizational cybersecurity guidelines, including defining security boundaries and categorizing systems based on security and privacy requirements.
- Lead design and assessment of cloud and on-premise security fabrics, including Zero Trust implementations and least-privilege access controls.
- Identify and document enterprise and system-level security and privacy requirements, including handling of sensitive and personal data.
- Assess candidate architectures, analyze security impacts, and recommend mitigation measures.
- Develop security architecture guidance, policies, SOPs, and as-code hardening standards.
- Support acquisition, procurement, and risk management efforts by providing input on security requirements, cost estimates, and technical specifications.
- Produce technical reports, reference architectures, roadmaps, and presentations for both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Maintain security documentation throughout the system development and acquisition lifecycle.
Requirements
7+ years of experience designing security architectures with NIST SP 800-53 and other federal security frameworks.2+ years of experience implementing Zero Trust architectures across cloud and on-premise systems.Experience designing security architectures in Microsoft Azure, leveraging native services and COTS tools.Knowledge of government-wide security mandates, CISA directives, and enterprise security postures.Proven ability to assess, evaluate, and improve system security across complex environments.Strong collaboration and communication skills, capable of translating technical requirements for diverse audiences.Proficiency in technical documentation, diagrams, reports, and presentations.U.S. Citizenship required and ability to pass a federal background investigation.Preferred certifications : CISSP, CCSP, CISSP-ISSAP, CISSP-ISSEP, SSCP, CASP, CEH, CNDA, GMON.Benefits
