Loan Ops Specialist
The Loan Operations Specialist will support Peachtree's loan servicing and asset management activities with a primary focus on loan and investment servicing, analysis, loan draw processing, and leading loan operations related to cash movement and leverage payments. This role ensures that funds are efficiently moved up the structure, properly reconciled, and ready for timely distribution to investors and stakeholders. You will work closely with the in-house asset management team, our external servicing group, underwriting teams, borrowers, participant lenders, and other key stakeholders. The position requires strong written and verbal communication, as well as excellent interpersonal, analytical, and time management skills. Attention to detail is crucial.
Responsibilities :
- Lead loan operations related to cash movement, leverage payments, and fund transfers, ensuring funds are properly reconciled, moved up the structure, and ready for timely distribution.
- Analyze loan data to make informed decisions and coordinate internally with borrowers, loan participants, lenders, and with our external servicing group.
- Work with borrowers to interpret loan information, provide reporting data, and foster a customer-friendly experience.
- Work with loan participants and senior lenders for regular reporting, one-off analyses, and payments.
- Develop loan reporting data including payment histories, escrow analyses, and other reporting needs.
- Review and facilitate the onboarding of new loans, both originated by Stonehill or acquired.
- Coordinate and create real and prospective loan return analyses to be used to make informed investment decisions and to calculate realized investment returns.
- Perform ad-hoc reviews of loan documents to ensure compliance with loan covenants and restrictions.
- Collaborate with accounting teams to transfer funds, resolve payment issues, and ensure accurate reconciliation of cash movements.
- Work to improve existing loan servicing, asset management, and loan operations processes.
- Collaborate with the team on other related tasks as needed.
Qualifications :
Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, Real Estate, or a related field required; advanced degree or relevant certification.25 years of experience in loan operations, loan servicing, fund accounting, or real estate finance, preferably within a commercial real estate or private credit environment.Strong understanding of loan structures, cash flow waterfalls, leverage facilities, and fund distributions.Experience managing cash movement and payment processes, including reconciliation and coordination with internal accounting teams and external lenders or servicers.Proficiency with financial systems, loan servicing software, and Microsoft Excel (advanced functions, pivot tables, and financial modeling).Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills with strong attention to detail and accuracy.Ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to collaborate across teams and with external partners.Proactive approach to identifying process improvements and implementing operational efficiencies.High level of integrity and professionalism when handling sensitive financial information.
