Overview

Job description for a machine vision software engineer focused on developing and maintaining custom machine vision and GUI applications, designing vision algorithms for product quality inspection, process control, and manufacturing automation, and providing technical support in field environments.

Responsibilities

Develop and maintain custom machine vision and GUI applications.
Design machine vision algorithms for product quality inspection, process control, and manufacturing automation.
Apply knowledge of deep learning-based vision solutions.
Make decisions in ordering, building, and maintaining PCs and PC-based GUI software.
Configure vision systems (host PC, frame grabbers, cameras, illumination, motion control, interfaces, etc.).
Analyze project requirements; design, develop and test multitasking Windows desktop applications for industrial equipment.
Understand and interface with third party embedded controllers using their APIs.
Optimize existing software to improve performance and fix bugs.
Provide technical support for the field.

Qualifications

Masters or Bachelor degree in computer engineering / electronics engineering or equivalent.

Min 3 to 5 years experience in vision and developing Windows applications for industrial / automation equipment using C#, WPF and .NET Framework. Able to develop rich and modern user interface.

Good understanding of TCP / IP, RS-232, camera interface and motion controller interface protocols (e.g., Epson, ABB, Beckhoff).

Knowledge in MODBUS, SECS / GEM and other industrial protocols is an added advantage.

Good in process mapping and software design concepts.
