About The Position

Anesthesiologist - Locum Opportunity

Location : Poughkeepsie, NY 12601

Start Date : November 2, 2025

Shift : 07 : 00 AM - 03 : 30 PM

We are seeking Anesthesiologists for locum coverage at a large medical center in Poughkeepsie, New York. This is a supplemental assignment with ongoing coverage needs. The site offers a collaborative environment with CRNA support and a wide variety of case types.

Key Details :

  • Case types include General, Neuro, Ortho, and OB
  • 21 anesthesia rooms
  • CRNA to MD ratio : 3 : 1
  • MDs supervise CRNAs and also perform their own cases
  • Charting system : Cerner
  • No in-house or pager call required
  • Overtime offered but not expected
  • Estimated privileging timeframe : 60 days
  • Willing to license candidates who accept offers and apply promptly
  • Board certification or fellowship not required

Responsibilities :

  • Direct and coordinate activities in the Anesthesia Department
  • Manage patients undergoing surgery and medical procedures
  • Conduct pre-anesthesia assessments and obtain consent
  • Discuss anesthetic options and risks
  • Perform induction, maintenance, and emergence from anesthesia
  • Monitor physiological condition and intervene as needed

    • Requirements :

  • M.D. / D.O. degree from an accredited College of Medicine
  • Completion of approved residency in Anesthesia
  • ECFMG and FLEX (if applicable)
