Job descriptionDirect and coordinate activities in the Anesthesia Department Manage patients undergoing surgery and medical procedures Conduct pre-anesthesia assessments and obtain consent Discuss anesthetic options and risks Perform induction, maintenance, and emergence from anesthesia Monitor physiological condition and intervene as needed M.D. / D.O. degree from an accredited College of Medicine Completion of approved residency in Anesthesia ECFMG and FLEX (if applicable) Assume leadership roles or managerial responsibilities in interim positions or short-term assignments, honing your leadership skills and management expertise. Cultivate meaningful relationships with patients from diverse backgrounds and communities, enriching your clinical experience and cultural competence. Embrace remote work options in telemedicine or virtual healthcare settings, leveraging technology to deliver care from anywhere while maintaining professional engagement. Provide essential medical services to underserved communities or during staff shortages, ensuring consistent patient care nationwide. Stay current with the latest medical advancements and technologies by working in various facilities with diverse resources.

About The Position
Anesthesiologist - Locum Opportunity
Location : Poughkeepsie, NY 12601
Start Date : November 2, 2025
Shift : 07 : 00 AM - 03 : 30 PM
We are seeking Anesthesiologists for locum coverage at a large medical center in Poughkeepsie, New York. This is a supplemental assignment with ongoing coverage needs. The site offers a collaborative environment with CRNA support and a wide variety of case types.
Key Details :
- Case types include General, Neuro, Ortho, and OB
- 21 anesthesia rooms
- CRNA to MD ratio : 3 : 1
- MDs supervise CRNAs and also perform their own cases
- Charting system : Cerner
- No in-house or pager call required
- Overtime offered but not expected
- Estimated privileging timeframe : 60 days
- Willing to license candidates who accept offers and apply promptly
- Board certification or fellowship not required
