Job Summary :
We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Accounting Professional to join our NAFSC Accounting team. This role involves collaboration with various Accounting and Business departments to provide business-related accounting items and support to multiple teams. The position also includes coordination of activities for Defense finance teams due to the sale of a portion of the marine business to an external buyer.
Key Responsibilities :
- Provide accounting details and documents for Accounts Payable (AP), Accounts Receivable (AR), General Ledger (GL), and cash items to the Defense finance teams or buyer as requested.
- Coordinate and manage data requirements for the Mergers & Acquisitions (M&A) group.
- Complete reconciliations, review journal entries, and perform other ad hoc accounting activities as assigned by management.
- Collaborate effectively across Accounting and Business teams to ensure accuracy and compliance.
Required Skills (Must Haves) :
Strong Excel skills (minimum 4 / 10 proficiency or higher).Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field.Minimum 2 years of accounting experience.Knowledge of general accounting principles, including journal entries, reconciliations, and financial analysis.Preferred Skills :
SAP experience.Strong communication and problem-solving abilities.Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment with frequent interruptions and multiple deadlines.Education Required :
Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field (required).
Master’s degree in accounting or finance (preferred).
