Infrastructure Systems Engineer, Controls Fleet

Join the Controls Fleet team, which plays a crucial role in developing and supporting some of Amazon's most vital infrastructure services. As a member of Amazon Web Services (AWS), you'll support the infrastructure for the world's leading e-commerce and cloud computing platforms.

We are looking for a motivated engineer to join our team of dedicated Windows and Linux Systems Engineers. The ideal candidate will be innovative, analytical, and possess excellent problem-solving abilities. You should be comfortable tackling complex challenges across various platforms. A strong understanding of operating systems, network fundamentals, TCP / IP, and common networking protocols is essential. You should also have proficiency in at least one scripting language (e.g., PowerShell, Python, Ruby) and a proven history of creating automated solutions. Experience in operating distributed systems and diagnosing complex issues is highly valued. Attention to detail and a strong focus on root cause resolution are critical for this role.

In this rapidly growing environment, flexibility is key as priorities can change quickly. You should be adaptable to a diverse range of tasks and technologies.

This position requires on-site presence at a minimum of five days a week with minimal travel expected. Additionally, candidates must be US citizens with an active Top Secret security clearance and SCI eligibility, and must maintain an active TS / SCI security clearance with polygraph after starting the role.

Key Responsibilities :

• Technical Infrastructure : Deploy, manage, and support extensive Windows and Linux environments, including virtualization and networking components.
• Automation & Development : Develop and sustain automation solutions with PowerShell, Python, or Bash to streamline deployment processes and infrastructure management.
• System Design : Design and implement secure, scalable solutions while considering system interdependencies.
• Problem Solving : Analyze and resolve complex technical issues using root cause analysis.
• Documentation & Training : Maintain technical documentation, create training materials, and foster team knowledge sharing.
• Collaboration : Work with partner teams to provide technical consultation and support cross-functional initiatives.
• Security & Compliance : Identify security risks, recommend mitigation strategies, and engage in compliance activities.
• Operational Support : Participate in a 24 / 7 on-call rotation and may require up to 20% travel.
