Structural Design Engineer PE

Overview

We are seeking a Structural Design Engineer with a P.E. license with a specialization in steel structures. This is a direct hire role located in Memphis, TN. The Structural Design Engineer is responsible for providing safe, efficient, and code-compliant structural designs for pre-engineered steel building systems. This role supports both internal teams and external clients by delivering high-quality engineering solutions that align with project goals, manufacturing capabilities, and industry standards. This position offers relocation assistance and a 10% annual bonus and provides a hybrid schedule after training. The engineer will lead and support the design process, review the work of junior engineers, and serve as a technical expert throughout the project lifecycle.

Responsibilities

• Establish and adhere to project scopes and budgets.
• Effectively communicate project expectations and objectives with both internal staff and clients, utilizing both written and verbal channels.
• Conduct on-site inspections and prepare comprehensive structure condition reports.
• Interpret specifications and drawings, propose and document design modifications, and coordinate seamlessly with the design team.
• Conduct Quality Assurance / Quality Checks on all projects to uphold the company's commitment to delivering superior service to our clients.
• Provide oversight and mentorship to staff while also offering project support to other departments within the organization.
• Manage client relationships and actively cultivate new business connections.
• Capability to engage in design work related to non-bridge projects is advantageous but not mandatory.
