Job description

Overview

Teacher Leader, SpcRev role at Hillsborough County Public Schools. This is a hybrid position : teaching students in a classroom 50% of the time (0.5 FTE) and supporting teachers for improved instruction 50% of the time in Math (0.5 FTE).

Summary : 25-26 School Year.

Responsibilities

  • Provide instructional coaching to all teachers.
  • Develop and conduct staff development for classroom teachers.
  • Analyze student data and recommend interventions to administrators and teachers.
  • Analyze observational data and conduct conferences with teachers individually and in groups.
  • Collaborate with core content coaches and contacts to ensure timely dissemination of curricular and instructional information from the district and other sources.
  • Collaborate with on-site staff on the use of available school technology and resources to increase student achievement.
  • Develop and support demonstration classrooms in core content classes.
  • Develop a monitoring plan and interventions for attendance.
  • Participate in professional development across content areas and attend monthly PLCs to stay current with best practices and standards.
  • Interpret data related to student performance and identify appropriate intervention strategies.
  • Model effective techniques in the classroom and participate as an active member of leadership teams and PLCs.
  • Provide follow-up and implementation support for professional development activities.
  • Establish and maintain positive, collaborative relationships with administrators and personnel.
  • Design and implement instruction aligned with state standards, district curriculum, and student needs.
  • Create a positive educational climate and deliver relevant, rigorous lessons that maximize student engagement and achievement.
  • Utilize diverse teaching practices to reflect varied educational, cultural, and linguistic backgrounds to meet individual student needs.
  • Observe and evaluate student performance, monitor assessment data, and maintain grades and attendance.
  • Manage classroom behavior with effective strategies and disciplinary procedures as needed.
  • Communicate with parents and school / district personnel regarding student progress and encourage parental involvement.
  • Take precautions to ensure health and safety of students and protect equipment, materials, and facilities.
  • Maintain confidential records and appropriate certifications and professional development hours.
  • Perform other duties as assigned and review responsibilities as district needs evolve.

Qualifications

  • Five (5) years of increasingly responsible, successful classroom teaching experience.
  • Experience in preparing and presenting trainings preferred.
  • Florida Professional Educator Certificate.
  • Language Skills : Read, analyze, and interpret documents; conduct presentations and trainings; conference with teachers regarding teaching skills.
  • Mathematical Skills : Work with math concepts and apply fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
  • Reasoning Ability : Solve practical problems and interpret instructions furnished in various forms.
  • Computer Skills : Microsoft Office.
