Must have New York license in hand

Must be available for holiday coverage

Must be over 75 miles radius

Description :

Specialty : Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit

Nights shift from 19 : 00 to 07 : 00

Weekend requirements : Every other weekend

First-time travelers accepted

Unit has 16 beds

Patient population includes patients with sepsis, ARDS, renal failure, heart failure, and others

Patient nurse ratio is 1 : 2 with occasional 1 : 1 based on acuity

Skills required include :

Arterial line management

Assist with chest tube insertion / removal

Management of ventilated patients

Central line care / management

Continuous IV sedation

Titrate cardiac and vasoactive drips

Infection prevention

Interpretation of arterial blood gases

Obtain and interpret 12 lead EKG / ECG

PICC line management

Ideal candidates will have experience in a critical care environment.

The unit offers interdisciplinary support from various teams such as respiratory services, pharmacy, and social services.

Daily census averages around 7 patients across diverse age groups including adolescents, adults, and geriatrics.
