Chief Nursing Officer (CNO)

Salary Range : $198,000–$220,000 annually + 20% target incentive bonus

Schedule : Full-Time | Executive Leadership Position | Onsite

Requirements to Apply

  • Valid and current Michigan or compact RN license (or ability to obtain upon hire)
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required
  • Master’s degree in Nursing, Healthcare Administration, Business Administration, or related field required
  • Certification in leadership, healthcare administration, or DNP strongly preferred
  • Minimum 10 years of healthcare experience, including at least 7 years of progressive leadership and 3 years at the Executive Director, ACNO, or CNO level
  • Multi-site experience strongly preferred, particularly in community or critical access hospital settings
  • Strong knowledge of hospital operations, regulatory compliance, and clinical best practices
  • Demonstrated success fostering collaborative, mission-driven care environment

Job Overview

The Chief Nursing Officer (CNO) will serve as a key member of the executive leadership team, providing strategic and operational direction for nursing services across multiple hospital sites. This role is responsible for ensuring clinical excellence, regulatory compliance, and alignment with organizational mission and values. The CNO will lead initiatives to elevate patient experience, strengthen quality metrics, and support workforce engagement while fostering a culture of accountability, foresight, and professional growth.

This position requires a dynamic, forward-thinking nurse executive who can inspire interdisciplinary collaboration, champion evidence-based practice, and build sustainable systems of care for rural communities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide executive leadership for all nursing and clinical operations, ensuring alignment with organizational goals
