Internal Medicine Residency Program Coordinator
In accordance with ACGME Common and Internal Medicine Specialty Program Requirements, the Internal Medicine Residency Program Coordinator (PC) collaborates with the Program Director (PD) in the management of the day-to-day operations of the program and serves as an important liaison and facilitator between the learners, faculty and other staff members, and the ACGME. This position provides dedicated time for Coordinator functions and other admin support, based on program size, as defined by the ACGME Internal Medicine Program Requirements.
The Program Coordinator is a key member of the leadership team and is critical to the success of the program. As such, the Program Coordinator must possess skills in leadership and personnel management appropriate to the complexity of the program. The Program Coordinator will develop in-depth knowledge of the ACGME and Program Requirements, including policies and procedures. The Program Coordinator assists the Program Director in meeting accreditation requirements, educational programming, and support of residents.
The Program Coordinator reports to the Program Director of the Internal Medicine Residency Program.
Responsibilities and Duties
Education Two-year associate degree preferred; or HS plus two years prior experience as a Residency Program Coordinator in an academic medical setting, health care, or education field. Certification & Licensures TAGME Certification preferred (National Program Coordinator Certification). Qualifications Strong people skills. Ability to work independently. Strong Microsoft Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) computer aptitude required; experience with Residency Management Systems and other GME-relevant databases desired. Good time management skills. Demonstrates professional expertise and communication within multiple environments and maintaining confidentiality of program information.
