Chief Epidemiologist
MPHD is looking for a highly motivated and dedicated individual to serve as Chief Epidemiologist for the Epidemiology Program. The Chief Epidemiologist leads and is responsible for overall management and supervision of assigned personnel. Responsibilities include overseeing and conducting advanced-level professional epidemiologic work, developing disease identification and surveillance systems, managing the Epidemiology "Nerve" Center, and conducting environmental and community health assessments. The role also involves promoting continuous quality improvement and effective public health surveillance and analysis, managing administrative duties, and ensuring staff development and training.
Minimum Qualifications :
- Graduation from an accredited college or university.
- Four (4) years of progressively responsible full-time paid employment in a related field.
- Three (3) years in a public administration / supervisory capacity.
- Completed graduate degree in a directly related field may substitute for one (1) year of required experience.
- Masters or doctoral degree or other specialized credentials in a specific or related field and / or significant leadership and management ability may be required.
- Valid driver's license, use of personal vehicle, and maintenance of valid personal vehicle insurance as required by Tennessee Law.
Preferred Experience, Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities :
Terminal degree in public health with an emphasis in epidemiology or as MD / DVM / DDS with primary work in public health leadership.SAS Certification much preferred. Must be fluent in use of SAS and other statistical software.Demonstrated success as a manager, teacher, administrator, and team-builder.Advanced knowledge of statistical methods.Research experience.Advanced experience in MS Office, Excel, Access.GIS experience, grant writing and / or grant support experience.Ability to independently extract, clean, and manage data from several administrative, clinical, program, and population sources.Contact Information :
