Responsibilities
- Take ownership of problems through to resolution over a wide variety of systems and technologies.
- Ensure internal database systems are managed to the highest standard by following industry best practice.
- Performs work with a high degree of latitude.
- Handles the most complex issues.
- Demonstrate problem management, ownership, and prevention of downtime.
- Provides mentoring, guidance, and general oversight to less experienced staff in a variety of database design, administration, and / or modeling activities.
- Consults with and advises senior management and multiple clients on high-impact data or database management issues, influencing strategic direction.
- Leads complex data / database management activities including design of highly complex logical and / or physical databases, data modeling, mapping, integration, capacity planning, and development of policies and standards.
- Actively contributes to the development of existing and new IT processes and procedures to enhance service transition and service operation lifecycle stages.
- Demonstrates self-starter capabilities, identifying areas of improvement and taking action in order to address service-impacting issues.
- Provides operational support for the Epic Cache / Oracle / Windows / SQL Server database environment.
- Manages database backup / restores, daily checks, maintenance tasks, and building new database instances and applying service packs.
- Manages and escalates problems as appropriate, investigates defects, and works with infrastructure and external vendors to identify solutions and support required fixes.
- Follows Change Management procedures and standard practices in installing, configuring, and supporting databases and related items in Test and Production environments.
- Ensures service uptime is prioritized and all faults, incidents, and problems are responded to efficiently without negatively impacting SLAs and reporting metrics.
- Performs software upgrades or maintenance at times that minimize business impact.
- Other duties and / or projects as assigned.

Qualifications – Required
Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Information Technology, Computer Science, Mathematics, or related field, or 4 years of relevant experience.Expert knowledge of subject matter.Minimum of 6 (or if no degree, 10+) years of experience.Analytical, communication, adaptable, and flexible skills.Windows Server Operating Systems, Security concepts, and technologies, including PCI & PHI understanding.Active Directory, Group Policy, DBS, DHCP & DFS, Enterprise storage, Enterprise-scale patch management, and related maintenance methodologies.Network principles, protocols, and technologies.Epic Cache, Cogito, Oracle, SQL, and other database platforms, backup & recovery, including Disaster Recovery.Excellent written and verbal communication skills.Proficient computer skills including Google Suite and / or Microsoft Office platforms.Preferred Qualifications
Eight years of experience.Prior healthcare experience.Compensation
Minimum rate of $131,144 annually.
