TAX PREPARER / BOOKKEEPER

Monday - Friday

8 : 00 am - 5 : 00 pm

$30.00 per hour

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

  • Perform full-charge bookkeeping, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and closing books.
  • Prepare and analyze accurate financial statements for individuals and small businesses.
  • Complete federal and state income tax returns for individuals, partnerships, and corporations.
  • Prepare quarterly and annual payroll tax reports, sales tax filings, and other required documentation.
  • Maintain organized and up-to-date client records and documentation.
  • Conduct client consultations to gather financial information and provide tax planning advice.
  • Review and verify financial data for accuracy and compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
  • Stay informed of changes in accounting principles and tax laws to ensure compliance.
  • Provide professional customer service and maintain client confidentiality.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

  • Associate degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 1–3 years of experience in bookkeeping and tax preparation; audit experience preferred.
  • Solid understanding of federal, state, and local tax laws and reporting requirements.
  • Proficiency with tax preparation software and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel and Word).
  • Strong attention to detail, organization, and analytical skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication; strong customer service orientation.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and work independently.
