We're looking for an Accounting Specialist 1 / 2 / Tech within the Financial Services section at DPS-OMF.

Minimum Qualifications

One year of experience or training in accounting, auditing, bookkeeping, or financial operations or computations.

EXPERIENCE SUBSTITUTION :

Every 30 semester hours earned from an accredited college or university will substitute for one year of the required experience.

Job Duties and Other Information

Job Duties :

• Prepares and assists with balancing the monthly Office of Motor Vehicle Escrow Disbursements.
• Assists in the classification of revenues to include balancing and reconciling assigned Department of Public Safety accounts.
• Administers accounts receivable database to include entering, processing, billing, daily balancing, and monthly reconciliation of the subsidiary accounts receivable system
• Reviews and processes records of financial transactions, including invoices and / or deposit information relative to collections, refunds, accounts payable, and accounts receivable.

Career Progression : This position may be filled at the Accounting Specialist 1 / 2 / Technician, depending on the selected applicant's experience.

Loc ation : This vacancy is located in East Baton Rouge Parish.

Work Schedule : Work hours are 8 : 00 AM to 4 : 30 PM, Monday - Friday.

Compensation : The salary offered will be determined based on qualifications and experience. The bi-weekly rates for each title are as follows :

Accounting Specialist 1 (AS609) -$1,101.60
