Statewide Illinois Crisis Prevention Network Program Associate Director

Location : Rockford, IL, Springfield, IL or Melrose Park, IL

Salary : starting at $85,000 annually (based on experience)

JOB SUMMARY : The Associate Director of the Illinois Crisis Prevention Network (ICPN) supports the Statewide Director with clinical and administrative oversight to regional teams across the state. The Associate Director assists in ensuring high-quality crisis prevention and intervention services, staff supervision, and collaboration with community providers, families, and the Illinois Department of Human Services. This position plays a key role in coordinating day-to-day operations, providing clinical guidance to supervisors and team members, assisting with data tracking and deliverables, and supporting community training initiatives. The Associate Director reports directly to the Statewide Director of ICPN and serves as a key member of the leadership team.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS :

Clinical Support and Team Leadership (45%)

  • Provide clinical supervision and guidance to ICPN Clinical Supervisors and regional teams to ensure effective, person-centered services.

Review and support the development of action plans, personal support plans, and behavior plans; assist in addressing complex cases or crisis situations.

  • Review documentation for accuracy, timeliness, and compliance; collaborate with the Statewide Director to ensure quality audits are completed.
  • Support consistency in clinical service delivery and provide coaching, mentoring, and feedback to team members.
  • Act as a Clinical Supervisor for their home-base office
  • Program Operations and Quality Support (40%)

  • Assist in the coordination of day-to-day operations across ICPN teams, ensuring alignment with program goals and DHS deliverables.
  • Assist with staffing coverage, case assignment, and coordination between regional teams when necessary.
  • Track, organize, and summarize data to assist the Statewide Director with statewide performance reports and contract compliance.
  • Support recruitment, onboarding, training and professional growth of new team members.
  • Assist with identifying areas for improvement through data review, case feedback, and collaboration with supervisors.
  • Collaboration and Representation (15%)

  • Represent ICPN at meetings, case conferences, and DHS discussions as delegated by the Statewide Director.
  • Support communication between regional teams, community agencies, and the Department of Human Services.
  • Foster positive partnerships with external providers, families, and community systems to promote collaboration and effective crisis prevention.
  • MARGINAL FUNCTIONS :

  • Provide or model direct crisis services as needed during high-risk cases or to support regional teams.
  • Participate in projects, program development, strategic and operational goals and quality improvement initiatives.
  • Assist with compiling reports, records, and materials for data tracking and audits.
  • Serve as liaison to internal technical or administrative systems as assigned.
  • WORKING CONDITIONS :

    Work is primarily performed in an indoor office environment or in the community at various agencies and / or family homes. The work may include significant usage of a motor vehicle as well as maintenance of an active state approved driver license; work may require a moderate to high amount of noise (residential / day training settings). In addition, the work may require flexible hours outside of normal business hours and the ability to take crisis calls as required; this position will be subject to high stress situations in unplanned environments and should navigate critical situations with a measured and solution focused approach.

    PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS :

    The ICPN Associate Director must model and work directly with clients and families in crisis; this role may be subject to prolonged periods of sit-down work at a desk and working on a computer as well as prolonged periods of sitting while traveling, walking, or standing with clients and providers both indoors as well as traversing outdoors when applicable. This position and work involve traveling to various work sites as needed; must be able to lift, push, pull and carry a minimum of 50 pounds at a time; requires supporting clients and / or adaptive equipment; willingness and ability to make quick body movements.

    KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES :

  • Knowledge of behavior analysis, functional assessment, crisis prevention, and trauma-informed care.
  • Understanding of the IL DHS / DDD service system, waiver programs, and crisis response models.
  • Skill in supervision, coaching, and performance feedback.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with cultural sensitivity.
  • Ability to analyze data, identify trends, and contribute to quality improvement.
  • Ability to handle high-stress or emergent situations with professionalism.
  • Strong organization, documentation, and follow-through skills.
  • Collaborative mindset and ability to work within a statewide leadership team.
  • Ability to communicate and deliver presentations clearly and effectively, both orally and in writing, utilizing video, audio, documentation and other software to enhance learning experiences.

  • TRAINING, ACADEMIC AND EXPERIENTIAL REQURIEMENTS :

    Qualified candidates must possess a minimum of a master’s degree in social work, counseling, applied behavior analysis or related field, in addition to five (5) years of experience working with individuals with DD / ID in residential or therapeutic settings.

    Qualified candidates will also possess proven leadership and management experience with the ability to leave teams to excel in a high stress / high impact environment.

    Additionally, qualified candidates will have comfort in working professionally with people from a wide variety of cultural and socio-economic backgrounds.

    Qualified candidates will have excellent communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills and have experience using data to drive their decision-making process.

    PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS :

    Preferred candidates possess or are working towards their LCPC, LCSW, or LCP certifications and have experience with speaking and presenting across various clinical or professional topics.
