BASIC PURPOSE :
Assumption University is seeking an individual to design, develop, and maintain data integration, reporting, and analytics solutions that support Assumption University's operational, regulatory, and strategic needs. This role ensures data accuracy, security, and accessibility by managing ETL processes, database systems, and business intelligence tools. Through collaboration with stakeholders, the position translates complex data into actionable insights, enabling informed decision-making across the institution.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES :
Data Integration & ETL
- Design, develop, and maintain ETL processes using SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS)
- Create and optimize data pipelines to ensure efficient, secure, and reliable data movement across systems
- Monitor and troubleshoot integration workflows, ensuring data integrity and timely delivery
- Implement error handling and logging mechanisms within SSIS packages
- Responsible for all new and existing integrations between enterprise applications and systems
Database Management
Perform database administration duties including monitoring, maintenance, backup, and recovery operationsWrite complex SQL queries, stored procedures, views, and functions to support data operationsOptimize database performance through query tuning, indexing strategies, and database design improvementsEnsure database security, access controls, and compliance with organizational policiesData Governance & Quality
Establish and enforce data governance standards, policies, and best practicesImplement data quality frameworks to ensure accuracy, consistency, and reliability of enterprise dataDocument data lineage, definitions, and metadata to support transparency and complianceConduct regular data audits and implement remediation strategies for data quality issuesProcess Optimization & Documentation
Analyze existing business processes and identify opportunities for automation and improvementCreate and maintain comprehensive technical documentation including system architecture diagrams, process flows, and standard operating proceduresDevelop and document coding standards and best practices for the data teamImplement version control and change management procedures for all integration and reporting assetsBusiness Process Analysis
Partner with business stakeholders to understand operational workflows and data requirementsConduct thorough analysis of business processes to identify inefficiencies and recommend technology solutionsTranslate business needs into technical requirements and actionable data solutionsFacilitate workshops and requirements gathering sessions with cross-functional teamsAPI Development & Integration
Design and implement API integrations to connect disparate systems and applicationsWork with RESTful and SOAP web services to enable data exchange between platformsTest and validate API functionality, security, and performanceDocument API specifications and integration patternsReporting & Business Intelligence
Develop and maintain enterprise reports and dashboards using SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS)Create interactive visualizations and analytical dashboards in Power BI to support business decision-makingCollaborate with stakeholders to gather reporting requirements and translate them into technical specificationsOptimize report performance and ensure scalability across the organizationREQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS :
Technical Skills
Advanced proficiency in SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS) with 3+ years of hands-on experienceStrong expertise in SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS) for enterprise reportingExpert-level SQL programming skills including complex queries, stored procedures, and performance optimizationProven experience with Power BI for data visualization and dashboard developmentSolid understanding of database administration principles and best practicesWorking knowledge of API development and integration concepts (REST, SOAP, JSON, XML)Professional Experience
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Analytics, or related field (or equivalent experience)4+ years of experience in data integration, business intelligence, or related rolesDemonstrated experience implementing data governance frameworksProven track record of process improvement and optimization initiativesExperience with business process analysis and requirements gatheringCore Competencies
