Job Title : Director of Tax

Position Overview :
A growing organization is seeking a strategic and hands-on Director of Tax to establish and lead its corporate tax function. This newly created leadership role will be responsible for transforming tax operations from a compliance-focused function into a proactive, value-adding discipline. The Director will oversee all aspects of tax planning, compliance, and reporting, while partnering across departments to support growth, acquisitions, and operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities :
Lead the full tax lifecycle, including federal, state, and local income tax planning, compliance, and reporting
Prepare and review annual and quarterly tax provisions (ASC 740) and related financial disclosures
Manage relationships with external advisors for compliance, audits, and transaction support
Develop and execute a strategic tax plan aligned with organizational goals
Provide tax structuring and due diligence support for acquisitions and integrations
Collaborate with Accounting, Finance, and M&A teams to optimize tax positions, NOLs, credits, and step-ups
Oversee indirect tax processes (sales & use, property, excise, business licenses), with a focus on automation and efficiency
Strengthen internal controls and standardize processes using ERP and tax automation tools
Build and mentor a high-performing tax team to support continued growth
Monitor tax law changes and assess their impact on the organization’s structure and strategy
Qualifications :
CPA preferred; advanced degree in Accounting, Finance, or Taxation is a plus
10–15 years of progressive tax experience, including both public accounting and corporate roles
Strong knowledge of U.S. federal, state, and multi-entity taxation
Experience with ASC 740 tax provision accounting
Proven success in leading tax planning in a dynamic, acquisitive environment
Demonstrated ability to build or transform a tax function
Strategic thinker with a hands-on, collaborative leadership style
Familiarity with ERP systems and tax automation platforms preferred

Pay Details : $160,000.00 to $200,000.00 per year
