About The Position

Job Title : Cardiac Cath Lab RN

Profession : Registered Nurse

Hours per Shift : 07 : 00 - 17 : 30

Experience : Minimum of 1 year of cardiac or critical care experience required; experience in cardiac cath and / or interventional radiology preferred.

License : Valid state nursing license (VA or compact)

Certifications : ACLS, BLS, NIHSS

Must-Have :

• Minimum of 1 year of cardiac or critical care experience.
• Valid state nursing license (VA or compact).
• Certifications in ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS.

Description :

This position requires four 10-hour shifts from Monday to Friday.

On-call requirements include weekends and holidays.

The shift time is from 07 : 00 to 17 : 30, alternating Monday to Friday.

The patient ratio is 1 : 6.

Weekend coverage is required every other weekend.

There are no on-call requirements during weekdays.

Clinicians may float within their scope to meet facility needs.

This is a high-volume, high-acuity cath lab unit that takes STEMI calls.

The capacity is 12-18 cases a day, utilizing three newly renovated labs.

Each lab performs between 4-7 cases daily.

The team works collaboratively, including RNs and technicians.

RNs will scrub, circulate, and monitor procedures in the cath lab.

The procedures include TAVRs, Watchman devices, and other advanced cardiac interventions.

The charting system used is EPIC.

RNs are expected to monitor procedural sedation and administer medications as needed.

The unit is supported by interdisciplinary teams, including IV teams, physical therapy, and pharmacy.

Knowledge and experience in the use of specialized equipment are essential.

Candidates should be knowledgeable in interpreting and managing dysrhythmias.
