Burns & McDonnell's world headquarters in Kansas City, MO, is looking for a Staff Civil Designer to work within our Aviation & Federal Global Practice. Burns & McDonnell is a 100% employee-owned firm and voted as a Best Place to Work in numerous cities across the United States.

The Staff Civil Designer will work on an integrated design team within our Aviation & Federal Global Practice. Staff Civil Designer will perform the expected tasks with a moderate level of guidance from the design team and staff.

Our Team Is Routinely Responsible For Performing The Following

• Develop master plans for state-of-the-art facilities for commercial aviation and federal government clients. These facilities include aircraft maintenance hangars, engine maintenance facilities, munitions storage, personnel training facilities, flight simulator facilities, and administration buildings.
• Design site infrastructure for these facilities, including road geometry, parking lot layout, utility layout, grading and drainage design, and stormwater management.
• Design airfield infrastructure for regional and international airport clients, including runways, taxiways, parking aprons, alert shelters, and engine runup areas.
• Design fuel storage and piping facilities at airports and military facilities.
• Design ramp support facilities at airports including aircraft parking, maneuvering, jet bridge analysis, and ground support equipment servicing / parking.
