Travel Nurse Job Details Assignment Type : Travel Registered Nurse (OR RN) Location : Abilene, Texas 79606 (West Texas healthcare jobs) Facility Setting : Operating Room (Same Day Surgery, Detox, Bone Marrow Transplant, Mental Health, IDD specialties) Start Date : October 13, 2025 End Date : January 12, 2026 Contract Duration : 13 weeks Shift : Day shift, Monday-Friday, 5x8-hour shifts (06 : 30 - 15 : 00) Hours per Week : 40 On-Call : Required Patient Population : Adolescents, Adults, Geriatrics Estimated Weekly Salary Range : $2070-$2220 per week Registered Nurse Qualifications Active Registered Nurse (RN) license (Texas or compact state; must be in hand at submission) Minimum 2 years of recent Operating Room RN experience Certifications required : ACLS, BLS Proficiency with charting systems (Altera preferred; any charting system accepted) Must reside at least 150 miles from Abilene, TX facility Flu vaccine required (medical / religious exemptions considered) Ability to complete required labs within 72 hours of offer acceptance Resume and certification verification required at submission OR RN Responsibilities Deliver safe, effective, and compassionate perioperative care to surgical patients Demonstrate expertise in fire safety, cell saver, blood product administration, infection control, laser and radiation safety, specimen handling / labeling, universal protocol (time out), and wound management Assist with a wide range of surgical procedures : lobe resection, lung resection-thoracotomy, appendectomy, cholecystectomy, colon resection, hernia repair, laparoscopic procedures, thyroidectomy, arthroscopy, fracture reduction, laminectomy / discectomy, ortho / spine, spinal fusion, total joint replacement, cystoscopy, nephrectomy, prostatectomy, and TURP Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to achieve optimal patient outcomes Participate in on-call rotation as required for OR RN travel jobs Maintain accurate documentation and comply with hospital protocols and standards Apply now to join our healthcare team as a Travel Operating Room Registered Nurse in Abilene, Texas, and take the next step in your nursing career!
