The Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA) practices in collaboration with physicians and a surgery team to deliver high-quality, holistic, evidence-based anesthesia in Pain Management. The CRNA cares for patients in a surgical pain management setting.
Job Duties
- Reviewing medical history, evaluating patients, and determining proper methods of anesthesia.
- Accurately measuring and monitoring the level and speed at which anesthesia is administered.
- Monitoring patients vital signs to ensure safety.
- Informing the physician if a patient becomes unstable.
- Attending to patients needs before, during and after surgery.
- Overseeing patient recovery from anesthesia.
- Supports patient safety when performing his or her job functions.
- Reports adverse events to appropriate management authority.
- Identified possible risks in processes, procedures, devices and communicates to appropriate management authority.
- Additional task as assigned.
Qualifications
Holds current state license as a registered nurse in the state of Texas and complies with applicable state statutory and regulatory requirements concerning CRNAs.Graduate of a nurse anesthesia educational program accredited by the Council on Accreditation of Nurse Anesthesia Educational Programs.Is currently certified or recertified by the National Board of Certification and Recertification for Nurse Anesthetists.Insurable by an appropriate medical malpractice insurer.Active Advanced cardiac Life Support (ACLS), Basic Life Support (BLS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)1 year CRNA experience (preferred)1 year Pain Management experience (preferred)Schedule
