Senior Geotechnical Engineer

Title : Senior Geotechnical Engineer Location : Chattanooga, TN (hybrid) Duration : Direct Hire / Permanent Pay : $80,000 - $100,000 + discretionary bonus About the Role We’re looking for an experienced Geotechnical Engineer who’s ready to take the next step in their career — leading investigations, solving complex challenges, and helping shape the foundation of major infrastructure and development projects. You’ll work closely with a talented team of engineers, scientists, and field professionals on projects that span transportation, energy, industrial, commercial, and public works sectors. This is a hands-on, client-facing role where your technical expertise and practical judgment will make a tangible difference from concept through construction. What You’ll Do Lead and perform geotechnical field investigations, site characterization, and subsurface evaluations. Develop engineering analyses, calculations, and geotechnical recommendations for design and construction. Prepare detailed technical reports, design plans, and specifications. Oversee and mentor field staff and junior engineers to ensure high-quality data collection and project delivery. Review drawings and construction to verify compliance with geotechnical recommendations and specifications. Support proposal preparation, cost estimating, and project budgeting. Partner directly with clients to develop project scopes, resolve design and construction challenges, and communicate key findings. What You Bring Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Geotechnical, or Geological Engineering (Master’s preferred). 3–5+ years of relevant experience in geotechnical consulting or design. Experience managing and delivering small to mid-sized projects, with growing independence. Strong analytical, communication, and leadership skills. EIT / FE required; PE license (or ability to obtain) strongly preferred. Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
