About The Position

Job Title : MRI Technologist

Profession : MRI Tech

Specialty : MRI

Duration : 13 weeks

Shift : Day

Hours per Shift : 6 : 00 AM - 2 : 30 PM

Experience : Preferred one year of clinical imaging experience

License : ARRT certified with current registration required

Certifications : CPR certification required within three months of employment

Must-Have : Siemens and hospital experience

Description :

Performs diagnostic magnetic resonance imaging of organs, organ systems, and blood flow studies.

Provides radiologists with images necessary to obtain diagnostic results for comprehensive diagnostic reports.

Orients physicians, residents, staff, and student technologists in the objectives and applications of magnetic resonance imaging and safety.

Assists nursing staff in various areas, including witnessing the wasting of medication and documenting in the system.

Competencies :

Education : Completion of an AMA-approved program in Radiologic Technology or equivalent, usually acquired in a two-year college or technical school program.

Knowledge : Extensive knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and pathologic processes, with emphasis on neurologic, orthopedic, and cardiac physiology.

Thorough understanding of aseptic and sterile techniques.

Requires knowledge of the physics involved in performing magnetic resonance imaging exams, as well as the use of all necessary equipment.

Effective communication skills are needed to interact with patients, physicians, and other personnel.

Skills : High levels of analytical and critical thinking skills are essential for performing appropriate scans based on patient history and protocol.

Work requires strong interpersonal skills for instructing and orienting patients, physicians, medical staff, and students.

Work Experience : Preferred magnetic resonance training program experience with clinical internship.
