Job descriptionManage all aquatic programs, staff and operations for the Gold Star Pool and War Memorial Recreation Center. Provide oversight of routine maintenance, compliance, emergency action planning, and safety inspections in accordance to state and federal requirements. Embrace the Department's Race and Equity Initiative. Develop delivery system for swim curriculum across all ages and programs Solicit and evaluate feedback from public to determine aquatic programming and operations. Supervise, hire, train and evaluate aquatic staff and volunteers. Monitor necessary pool supplies and place orders when appropriate. Keep updated records and prepare reports related to pool usage, chemical logs, payroll, and revenue. Assist with Aquatics workouts and scheduling of classes by working with instructors. Work in close partnership with CRLS aquatics coordinator regarding pool status of the War Memorial. Communicate calmly and effectively in emergency situations with staff, patrons and general public. Aquatics Management (Hard Skills) Regulatory Compliance (Hard Skills) Equity and Inclusion (Soft Skills) Feedback Solicitation and Evaluation (Soft Skills) Staff Management (Soft Skills) Inventory Management (Hard Skills) Record Keeping and Reporting (Hard Skills) Aquatics Manager, Aquatic Center at Mylan Park, Morgantown, WV Recruits, hires, trains and evaluates aquatic staff including Aquatic Supervisors, Lifeguards and Slide Attendants Schedules staff to ensure adequate coverage during hours of operation, to maintain safety and support activity schedules Monitors daily pool schedules and suggests updates or changes to schedule based on usage Operates and maintains each pool and the corresponding systems, filters, pumps and other mechanical equipment at the Aquatic Center at Mylan Park coordinates large repairs with Building Maintenance Manager Perform daily, weekly, monthly, and annual inspections and maintenance for the water filtration and sanitation systems Maintain the highest standards of water quality through proper chemical balance for all bodies of water Works with the Aquatic Supervisors, Facility Managers and lifeguards and other designated staff to train, implement and evaluate preventative maintenance tasks Oversees and enforces the ongoing implementation of the Aquatic Safety Plan Responsible for ensuring areas of responsibility stay in line with current trends Prepare regular written communication such as monthly and annual reports, financial and participation reports and equipment inventory reports Evaluate performance and effectiveness of areas of responsibility through regular assessment Leadership and Management Skills (Soft Skills) Staff Scheduling (Hard Skills) Facility Management (Hard Skills) Maintenance and Inspection (Hard Skills) Water Quality Management (Hard Skills) Training and Development (Soft Skills) Safety Compliance (Hard Skills) Communication and Reporting (Soft Skills) Aquatics Manager, Salt Lake City Sports Complex, Salt Lake City, UT Ensure that all Aquatic Center policies and procedures are being followed to preserve the safety of each participant Ensure that aquatic staff properly activate the established Emergency Action Plan Plans, schedules and leads monthly in-service training for aquatic staff Maintains automated and annual records of all lifeguard certifications, in service records, and other pool records (head counts, logs, locker room checks etc.) Maintains knowledge of pool operations and researches new or emerging methods Coordinates with pool chemical and equipment vendors to ensure supplies are inventoried and ordered on a schedule for pool maintenance and stored properly Coordinates with Building Maintenance Manager to contract repairs when specialists are needed to make repairs and complies with all current warranty and service contracts Monitors pool water chemistry and operation using all available tools and responds to alarms and alerts in an efficient manner Assist with facility preparation including set-up, tear-down and on-site support for large aquatic center events Assist in the oversight and operation of the Learn to Swim Program Assist with long-term planning, capital expense planning and forecast equipment replacement Supervi part-time employees within scope of facility areas Develop, implement, manage and deliver a variety of aquatic activities to improve engagement and health and wellness within the community.
The Aquatics Manager oversees the enforcement of all Aquatic Center policies to ensure participant safety, leads the activation of emergency plans, and conducts regular training for staff. This role involves maintaining detailed records, managing pool operations, coordinating maintenance and repairs, and ensuring proper inventory of supplies. Additionally, the Aquatics Manager supports event preparation, oversees swimming programs, and contributes to long-term facility planning and community wellness activities
